Children's Advocacy Center is a registered 501(c)3 not for profit agency. We work with Children's Medical Services and the Department of Health in Tallahassee and receive funding from them for our Child Protection Team Services. However, for all of our other services we write grants and look for funding from other sources.
As the growth in Southwest Florida is increasing at phenomenal rates, our services are in more demand than ever before. Although the agency has an excellent record for writing and obtaining funding from grants, with the number of not for profit agencies also increasing, it is becoming more difficult.
Children's Advocacy is considered to be a "black" or "dark" agency, meaning that marketing our services is not what people want to hear or talk about, nor do our families want to discuss their experiences at our agency. Therefore, gaining exposure for our agency is hindered, while increasing numbers are making education and services imperative.
At no time does the agency want to stop services because of lack of funding, and this makes donations even more important. Budget cuts severely hinder our ability to continue to provide services.
Seeing the fearful and traumatized face of a child change to a happy and trusting one is worth its weight in gold.
Please take a look at the many ways you could help!
