Children's Advocacy Center works with abused children and survivors of abuse and under one umbrella offers services to help the healing process.
Child Protection Team provides forensic interviews, medical examinations, psychosocial family assessments, psychological evaluations, crisis intervention and referrals for other services. Other services such as therapy or parenting classes are also provided on site through our other programs. Child Protection services are free of charge.
Family Alliance provides therapy to child victims and survivors of abuse, victims of neglect and abuse. These therapy sessions are provided on an individual or group basis and minimal fees for these services may be applicable.
Our Nurturing Programs are parenting classes, which are held at the agency and at various locations throughout the county. Parents and children may attend these classes to help strengthen the family unit. These classes may be court appointed or voluntary. There is no fee for any of our classes. In home classes are also offered for at-risk families who have children less than two years of age.
Pine Manor Family Resource Center is available to the residents of the Pine Manor neighborhood.This is where our services are provided in both English and Spanish, and where residents can apply for food stamps or look for a job on-line. We also bring in services to the neighborhood if the need is great enough. A similar program is available in Palmona Park for the residents of that neighborhood.
Prevention Services are available in the neighborhoods of Pine Manor, Palmona Park and Suncoast Estates. Programs offered in these areas range from parent education, teen outreach, after school programs, computer classes and information and referral services.
