Our Services FAMILY ALLIANCE
Family Alliance is a child-friendly, outpatient counseling program that provides therapeutic treatment to children who have been abused or neglected, have witnessed or experienced family violence, or have witnessed a violent crime or homicide. Treatment options include individual, family, and group therapy for children and their non-offending parent and adult survivors; psychiatric evaluations and medication management; and
educational workshops.
The goals of the program are: 1) to assist clients in overcoming abuse-related behavioral and emotional difficulties; and 2) to help clients develop effective coping skills, healthy socialization skills, and safety planning skills.
To be eligible for the program, clients must be at-risk of victimization or determined to be a victim of abuse and/or a witness to family violence or a homicide. In addition, clients must be stabilized and appropriate for outpatient therapeutic services and/or receiving additional services to maintain stability. Upon referral, a master's level therapist conducts a diagnostic assessment on the child and develops a specific treatment plan. The child and non-offending parent receive services on a weekly basis, for 10-16 weeks, depending on the diagnosis. During treatment, therapists work collaboratively with other agencies involved with the family. Staff makes appropriate referrals for continued assistance to the client upon program completion.
