Our Services OFFENDER SERVICES
The Offender Services Relapse Prevention Program is a structured, community-based, outpatient treatment program serving adolescent and adult sexual offenders, as well as individuals with sexual addictions including addiction to Internet pornography. We also provide services for family members and spouses impacted by the sexual addict or sexual offender. Treatment is based on the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) standards, empirical research, and ethical guidelines.
Current research indicates that the most effective and widely recognized therapy for sexual offenders is cognitive-behavioral therapy with a formal maintenance and relapse prevention module (Abel, Becker & Skinner, 1986; Marshall & Barbaree, 1990). "Sexual deviation, even when not conceptualized as an addiction, certainly has much in common with traditional addictions, particularly in regards to denial, guilt, and secrecy" (Schartz & Cellini, 1996). It is these characteristics that mandate treating sex offenders in a group format.
Clients may be self-referred or court-ordered into treatment. Services are based on a sliding-fee scale with reduced fees available based on the client’s ability to pay. The program provides full assessments to determine treatment goals appropriate to individual clients. Individual, group, and family therapy are all available as treatment options.
